OUR STORY

Ancient Roots. Modern Calm.

House of Kava bridges Pacific Island tradition with modern Australian life, delivering the world's finest noble kava to those who seek calm, connection, and quality.

THE BEGINNING

Where It All Started

House of Kava was born from a deep respect for Pacific Island culture and a belief that Australians deserve access to the highest quality noble kava. Our founders spent years building relationships with farming communities in Fiji and Vanuatu — not as commodity buyers, but as partners invested in shared success.

When kava was legalised for commercial import in Australia in December 2021, we were ready. Not just with supply, but with the relationships, knowledge, and infrastructure to do it right.

OUR SOURCING

Direct From Origin

We maintain an on-ground team in Fiji, including a dedicated kava specialist who works directly with farming communities. This means we can guarantee provenance, quality, and consistency at every stage — from farm to warehouse to your door.

Our noble-only policy means we never source tudei (two-day) varieties. Every batch is third-party tested and accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis. We source exclusively from lateral roots and rootstock — never aerial parts.

"Kava is more than a product to us. It is a bridge between cultures, a shared moment of calm, and a responsibility we carry with respect."

CULTURE & COMMUNITY

Honouring Pacific Island Heritage

Kava has been at the heart of Pacific Island culture for over 3,000 years. It is the drink of ceremony, welcome, council, and peace. We recognise that responsibility and ensure our practices honour the communities and traditions that make kava possible.

Australia is home to one of the largest Pacific Islander diasporas in the world. For many in these communities, kava is not a trend — it is a vital cultural connection. We are proud to serve this community alongside newcomers discovering kava for the first time.

Investing in Origin Communities

We believe the success of the Australian kava market should directly benefit the farming communities who make it possible. Our direct-trade model ensures fair pricing, while our long-term partnerships provide farmers with the stability needed to invest in their land, families, and future harvests.

As we grow, we are committed to supporting education and infrastructure projects in our partner communities — because the roots of quality kava are not just in the soil, but in the people who tend it.
